Summer is in full swing. Around here the days are hot and long and the nights are a cool reprieve from the sticky heat. Our summer days have been packed with activities lately and while I’m loving all this quality time doing fun things with my kiddos our schedule has made it hard to catch up with friends.
You may recall me talking about how important hanging out with my girlfriends is for me in this post. I need that connection, it’s good for my soul. It keeps me grounded… and sane.
I planned a simple Garden Party with the Girls to reconnect and unwind. Over the years I’ve learned to stress a little less about what I’m wearing, how perfectly clean the house is, how extravagant my appetizer tray looks and to focus on creating an inviting place for friends to come kick back and unwind. Carving out some quality time with the people close to you is so important, it’s the conversation and company that matter more than anything.
Taking advantage of the cooler evenings my stylish friend Rebekah from A Blissful Nest and I fluffed up the pillows on the patio furniture, lit some candles and provided a simple drink and appetizer tray for the girls to enjoy. The new Sangria from Yellow Tail was the perfect drink option for our Garden Party. This ready to serve Sangria is a delicious mix of citrus and red wine that requires little effort on my part as the hostess. Simply pop open the bottle, pour into your favorite pitcher, add fresh fruit, a splash of soda and serve.
That’s the beauty of this stuff, Yellow Tail Sangria can be enjoyed either chilled on its own, over ice, with fresh fruit, a sprinkle of mint, or a splash of soda. Either way it’s a refreshing way to relax on a warm summer night with friends.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt to add a little extra detail to a simple evening like these fun monogrammed acrylic wine glasses from For Posh Sake. Aren’t they pretty? These are perfect for entertaining outside, no need to worry about shattered or broken glasses.
A simple, but pretty set up with easy drinks and food guarantees less stress, so the good conversation and laughter can freely flow.
How do you carve out some time for a little TLC or quality time with your girlfriends?

I’m overdue for a girls night! I don’t drink a lot but I love sangria! When I do have a ladies night, that’s always the drink that I order.
