One of my goals for 2018 was to push myself to try new craft mediums and projects. I want to expand my creative bubble. Although this pour technique is all the rage lately, tackling this trendy technique was quite intimidating. But I worked up the courage to try it out. I teamed up with DecoArt to create my own fluid acrylic paint poured canvas art, and I have to say I’m in love with this craft trend!
Abstract Pour Art
I’m sharing all the details and the supplies you will need for this fluid pour art project on the DecoArt blog.
A Trendy Technique
I’ve seen this creative paint pour technique popping up all over the internet lately. I love the way they look. However, I’m completely intimidated by any kind of art or painting project. But, after stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying something new, I’ve found a fabulous new art technique. I can see myself trying this over and over again. And it’s so simple! Just select your paint colors, layer them in a container, then slowly pour out the mixture over your canvas. Ta-dah-a beautiful piece of acrylic paint poured art!
I’m curious, what craft projects or techniques intimidate you? Is there something you’ve been dying to try, but are just too apprehensive about the process to jump in? Let’s vow to tackle those projects this year and try new things! That’s the beauty of creating art or crafts. The process is half the fun. Plus the joy and satisfaction you get from seeing the completed project is unbelievably satisfying. So if you are like me and have been too afraid to try something you see and love, today is the day to start something new!
Many Variations
I can see this technique being used for so many fun projects. I’m looking forward to trying it on different surfaces and with different pouring techniques. What colors and themes would you use to create your own fluid acrylic poured canvas art?
Make sure you pop over to the DecoArt Blog for all of the project details and check out some of their other creative art projects that will inspire you to try something new! That looks so fun! My boys and I love experimenting with new art and painting techniques; though something that sounds this messy is usually only something we’ll tackle in the summer… outside! Pinned.

I hope to try out this technique… 🙂

Do it Jeanne, you will love how it turns out. The best part about this kind of art is it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Would love to see you in action on YouTube!
I just retired and finally can do art. I chose something I had never done yet, and it is liquid acrylic. I love it!

You are so sweet Jeanne, I have done a few Facebook videos for this technique but nothing on YouTube yet. Maybe I’ll give that a try next!
