I love ruffles and what would Easter be without fluffy bunnies? I made new Easter outfits for the girls to wear at our Easter party and included both of these fun elements.
I used a pattern from Little Lizard King for the first ruffle skirt I made (Aubrey’s) and made alterations and simplified for the second (Piper’s). I discovered that I really wish I had a serger, it would make these type of sewing projects so much easier!
I found the fabric while on a shopping trip with my mom and it reminded me of jelly beans so we bought it, but I knew I would have a hard time finding a shirt to go with it. I used pink $1 shirts and used the same bunny image from the Dimpleprints party package to make a shirt to go with it for Easter (I plan to find something that matches a little better so she can wear it year round.)
I enlarged the image and printed it out on my computer. I cut the bunny out of fabric and stitched it onto the shirt with a zig zag stitch. I added a pink fluffy pom pom tail.
The girls now have a cute fluffy ruffle bunny outfit to wear to all those Easter egg hunts.
Yikes, Easter is this Sunday…I better get busy sewing their Easter dresses!!!!
