It’s that glorious time of year where the weather gets cooler, the holiday season begins and football fills our weekend! I love this time of year and I always look forward to football games. Whether we are heading to the local high school game or tailgating at the match up between major rivals I love game day!
I’ve teamed up with my favorite beverage company Coca-Cola® and Walmart to share easy tailgate snack and party ideas that will help you make your next game day celebration extraordinary! Walmart has everything you need to take your tailgating to the next level, with an extensive selection of snacks and food, including everyone’s favorite Coca-Cola beverages you can get everything you need in one stop. Better yet, take advantage of their online grocery pickup and save yourself some time!
Every good party needs a little bit of pizzaz, but when you are tailgating you don’t want to drag a bunch of decorations with you to the game. I made a quick and easy chalkboard banner and keep it with my tailgate supplies. I like the chalkboard banner because I can switch out the saying depending on what game we are tailgating for. I took a black and white striped piece of fabric and laid it on the trunk of the car. Not only does this help keep your car from getting food spilt on it, it also makes it look more festive too.
Finally, I packed everything up in crates and boxes and then used those to display some of my favorite grab-and-go game day snacks.
Speaking of snacks, these bacon wrapped water chestnuts are one of my go-to game day snacks! Everyone loves these and they always go quickly, so make sure you double the recipe! You might be wondering what makes these so amazing, well the secret is in the sauce! I always add a little bit of Coca-Cola to sauce and it adds that perfect hint of sweet and deliciousness that makes you keep coming back for more!
These are super easy to make too. Simply drain the water chestnuts and pat them dry. Wrap each one in bacon, bake and then transfer to a crockpot and cover in the sweet and tangy sauce. Trust me, these will take your tailgate game day snacks to the next level.
With all these tasty snacks you’ll want to make sure you have a drink station with everyone’s favorite drinks. Coca-Cola beverages are practically synonymous with game day, so make sure you fill lots of drink buckets with ice and stock up on the Coca-Cola® and Coca-Cola® Zero Sugar 24 packs.
Are you ready to earn MVP honors at your next game day celebration? Head to Walmart and stock up on party decorations, snacks and Coca-Cola® and Coca-Cola® Zero Sugar 24 packs for an extraordinary tailgate celebration!

Thank you!!
Hi Jane, thank you! I got that football drink container from Oriental Trading and I believe they still have them in stock.
How do you have your crock pot plugged in?
We use a portable generator that we can power small appliances, like the crock pot and keep food warm.
