Today we are sharing an Easter treat that will have your loved ones hoppin’ and poppin’ with delight! Make these fun DIY Easter Bunny Treat Boxes with your Cricut for a simple and fun way to spread some holiday cheer.
Whether you put them on your holiday dinner table as favors or give them as Easter treats to neighbors, teachers, and co-workers, these cheerful bunnies are going to bring a little “eggstra” joy to your spring celebrations.
The Power of the Cricut
You know when you get one really cute idea, and then it just morphs into several other adorable projects? That was exactly what happened this spring as I was hunting for homemade Easter-themed crafts. I fell in love with the Echo Park gingham paper collection and started browsing the Cricut Design Space for some inspiration. First came the Bunny Gift Card Holders, which lead me to create the DIY Easter Bunny Cards, and then I wondered about using that springy-colored Cardstock to make 3-D shapes. My mom’s friend, Connie, had just discovered an easy recipe for making colorful candied popcorn and that gave me the idea for making these Easter Popcorn treat boxes. And the Cricut makes it SO-O-O simple.
Bunnies in Minutes
You only need one sheet of 12 x 12 and stock to make one bunny box. The outer ears are cut out of the same paper. Attach the ears, add eyes, chenille stem whiskers, and pom-pom nose with hot glue. Then all that is left to do is glue the box together. I was able to make 5 boxes from start to finish in a little more than a half-hour.
Filler up!
The possibilities for filling up these cute Easter Bunny Treat Boxes are endless. You can make this delicious recipe for Colorful Candied Jello Popcorn or create a simple Bunny Bait snack mix and fill them up for a tasty treat that is perfect for friends and neighbors.
Of course, traditional Easter candy like peeps, chocolate bunnies, and robin eggs will always please the little ones. But, with a little imagination, you can personalize your bunny box specifically for the receiver. Chex mix, nuts, powdered donuts, macaroons, or other cookies might be more appropriate for adults. For a cute table setting, fill them with fresh greens and flowers.
These cute boxes are easy to make with just a few supplies and your Cricut machine. And, they are Easter Bunny-approved and sure to make your Easter celebrations extraordinary!
