Continuation from Santa’s Workshop post.
Doorway Puppet TheaterI got this next gift idea from HearthSong and knew immediately this would be a perfect gift for Aubrey. I am always thrilled to find toys that don’t clutter up the house (ie. take up too much room or require lots of parts) and that allow her to be creative. However, I didn’t like the price or the design so I decided to make my own.
It really was an easy project and it came together quickly (about 2-3 hours total) and it is completely customized, how cute! I cut out the letters and the crown on my Cricut with my favorite Storybook cartridge and appliqued them on. I did spend about $30 on this project even though I really thought I could do it much cheaper. Turns out I bought WAY too much fabric and I didn’t use a coupon like I should have.
At the last minute I decided to make some stick puppets to go with it (even though we had hand puppets) because I couldn’t resist making them on the Cricut. I have decided that the stick puppets are great for her age & easy to use, these little pigs have been a big hit.
Great use of your cricut! we have the Paper Doll cartridge and we could make so many different characters with it. The theater looks fantastic, really professional looking.
