‘Tweet’ Growth Chart

A friend saw the growth chart I made for our kiddos and commissioned me to make one for hers. She sent me a couple examples of what she was looking for and we decided on a tree/bird theme.I was a little anxious about getting started on this one, I had a vision but wasn't sure how it would turn out. Fortunately, it all came together and I think it turned out great. I like it so much I seriously considered redoing ours!First, I painted the tree, leaves and grass.Next, I painted a bird on the … [Read more...]

Day at the Zoo

Last Saturday we bought a membership to the Dallas Zoo and today we decided to take advantage of our new passes. We met our sweet friends the Cobb boys and had a blast hanging out at the zoo.I love the fact that the kids can run around and burn off some energy all while having an educational, fun experience. The great thing about our new membership is I don't feel obligated to rush around and see everything. If the kids want to spend an hour in the Reptile House checking out the snakes and … [Read more...]

Muffin Tin Monday – Leftovers

Today's MTM theme was leftovers and while I had leftovers in the fridge I really didn't want to eat them today. So I took a slightly different direction (but still used some of those leftovers) and created a "Make Your Own Salad" Muffin Tin.I put lettuce in the middle of a big plate and filled the muffin tins with yummy toppings Aubrey could add to create her own salad. There was one rule - she had to use at least one item from each tin. Here is what we had for lunch:Lettuce, chicken, … [Read more...]

Time for Tea

My mother who is a book fanatic, especially children's literature (she could open her own library, not kidding) gave me this incredible book the other day and I was completely blown away. One by Kathryn Otoshi is an amazing, beautifully told and poignant story perfect for all ages. This simple book uses colors and numbers to illustrate bullying and the power and importance of one. If you are a parent you really MUST own this book. It is perfect for my preschooler, but yet the message was … [Read more...]

St. Paddy’s Day Party

I love to throw parties and look for any excuse to have them...so I threw together a St. Paddy's Day party for some of our adorable friends. The weather was GORGEOUS so we threw down some blankets in the backyard, moved the grocery store outside, gathered up some sidewalk chalk and let everyone loose (11 kiddos to be exact). A party wouldn't be complete without tasty food so I put together some simple snacks to help celebrate.I printed the cupcake toppers from TomKat Studio and then used my … [Read more...]
