I’m teaming up with Jamie Dorobek and her handmade Halloween costume site, Really Awesome Costumes to bring y’all tons of easy ideas to craft up DIY Halloween costumes for everyone including your pets, family costumes, and even a trunk or treat idea!
Along with my 10 Minute Homemade Jellyfish Costume, I’m sharing 88+ more really awesome handmade costume ideas from talented bloggers everywhere!
If you are looking for a quick and easy last-minute Halloween costume then this 10-minute Homemade Jellyfish Costume is just what you need. This jellyfish costume came together in about 10 minutes and the best part is I can reuse everything used to make this costume!
Last year I made my daughter the cutest DIY Octopus costume, but this year she has gone back and forth on what she wants to be for Halloween. She loves sea creatures, but she also says she wants to be a princess, a witch, and a superhero…making decisions when you are 6 can be tough! With this easy costume if she changes her mind at the last it won’t be such a big deal because I didn’t invest a lot of time or money in it. But, it’s still an adorable costume and in my book anything that is this easy is AWESOME!
Here is what you’ll need to make your own 10 minute homemade Jellyfish Costume:
- Clear Bubble Umbrella (I found mine on Amazon)
- 5-6 spools of ribbon in the desired color
- Leggings and long sleeve shirt
Have your child hold the umbrella and determine the length to cut the ribbon, you don’t want it to drag on the ground when they carry the umbrella.
After you have cut the ribbon start tying it to the umbrella. I decided to tie my ribbon to the umbrella spokes so that I can reuse the umbrella after Halloween.
Now that you have tied all of the ribbons to the umbrella all you need is an outfit.
Find leggings and a long sleeve shirt that coordinates with the ribbon you used on the umbrella.
That’s it, you are all set for Halloween. A quick and easy costume that is super cute and totally reusable once Halloween is over. And if this cutie changes her mind, we’ll have the fanciest umbrella the next time it rains! 🙂

What a clever and fun DIY Halloween costume idea! The 10-Minute Homemade Jellyfish Costume is adorable but also budget-friendly and reusable. I love how easy it is to put together, and it allows for flexibility in case the little one changes her mind. It’s a unique costume that will make any child stand out in the crowd.
