Bring whimsy and personality into your kitchen with DIY Hand Painted Tea Towels.
This easy and affordable DIY is a great way to add character to your own space or to personalize a special gift for friends. Nothings says heartfelt like a handmade personalized gift like my personalized homemade lemonade hostess gift.
Start by purchasing a package of plain white tea towels, which are also commonly known as flour sack towels. You will also need a stencil or stamp and paint and paint brushes.
I dug through my stash and found a cute little lemon slice stamp that I knew I wanted to use for my lemonade hostess gift, but it needed something else. I went to Michael’s where I found a fun package of Handmade Charlotte stencils on sale to add a simple design to my tea towels. After washing and ironing the tea towels I laid the stencil on the towel and carefully painted on the design.
I dipped the lemon stamp in paint and gently stamped the design above the stenciled design to complete the custom design.
These fun towels can be customized with any color or design and with only a few supplies you can knock this project out in less than 20 minutes. Now, that’s my kind of project!
