Every room in my house has been getting a spooky makeover. I absolutely love Halloween and I especially love decorating my house for this spooktacular holiday. In October all of the skeletons and creepy decor come out of the attic, and the cobwebs just become a part of the decor.
I recently teamed up with DecoArt to create this creepy Halloween Specimen Art to add to our collection. My son is obsessed with bugs and always trying to let him keep them in jars around the house. I figured this creepy piece of art was a good compromise, especially since they can’t crawl or escape!
Be sure you visit the DecoArt blog to check out the full tutorial and the cool new product I used to make these creepy bugs.
These creepy bugs will fit right in with the rest of our creepy decor like my creepy Halloween hand picture frame. This picture frame is one of my favorite DIY Halloween projects and it’s so easy to make.
Of course, these creepy bugs will fit right in on our haunted porch. My Dead & Breakfast Inn Halloween porch is my favorite Halloween display. Each year we add a few new pieces, like the new haunted guest, or the DIY Dead and Breakfast Inn sign.
If you are planning a Mad Scientist Halloween party I think these creepy bugs would be an excellent addition. Fill jars with the iridescent bugs and add spooky apothecary labels for spooktacular specimens.
What’s your style when it comes to decorating for Halloween? Do you prefer creepy and spooky or colorful and frighteningly fun?
