Fresh air, chirping birds, and flowers blooming, this can only mean one thing…spring is in the air. Today the sun is shinning and it is such a welcome sight. After a long winter we are definitely ready for spring and decided there is no better way to usher in the new growth and celebrate the season with a fun Spring Planting Party. Get ready to dig in and create a party that will delight your little buds!
Our local community garden was the perfect location to host our Spring Planting Party. The garden provides lots of garden tools for community use, compost, and potting tables for plenty of work space. You bring the pots, garden soil, seeds, flowers and sweet treats and you’ve got the perfect combination for a fun afternoon soaking in the fresh spring air and sunshine.
The dessert table was set up on one of the rustic potting tables with a simple array of sweet treats for the kids to enjoy. A tassel garland from The Flair Exchange added a cheerful pop of color to the simple display. From veggie filled pots to dirt cake there were plenty of treats for everyone to enjoy. Sweet and simple washi tape flags were staked in the cupcakes and hung from a banner on the cake. At each place setting our little gardeners could dig in with their own “chocolate seeds” and scoops.
Gumball filled tubes from Sweetworks were planted in a garden of seeds and pretty purple chocolate candies. Guest took home a gumball filled tube and a sweet little packet full of wildflower seeds for them to plant at home.
Let the kids creativity bloom with washi tape, paint and markers. Everyone received a clay pot that they could decorate with washi tape or paint and fill with their favorite spring blooms. We also provided wooden markers so they could keep track of what would soon be blooming in their colorful pots filled with tender love and care.
After a bitter cold winter I think we are all ready for a fresh start, beautiful blooms and SPRING!

This is so cute – looks great!
So cute! I wish I had seen this earlier when my kids were planting their garden. Some of these ideas would have been great for an after party.
Cute spring party ideas. I love the worms in dirt container. I am also a sucker for banners. So cute now I just need the weather to warm up to have an outdoor party!
Absolutely gorgeous– I don’t have kids but I’d love to do an adult version of this… gardening is one thing I’m looking forward to most about spring!
Wow, this is amazingly adorable! I used to just love those gummy worm “dirt cups” when I was a kid 🙂
So many great ideas! Loved it so much in the magazine and congrats on the cover!
Thank you, it’s always fun to see my parties featured and to see it on the cover is the icing on the cake!
I love all the little details like using planting pots for the veggie holders!
