I love celebrating all holidays, but Halloween is at the very top of my list of favorites! I think I could honestly host a little Halloween party every day of the month in October and not ever really tire of it. My sweet niece and nephew stayed with us over night recently, and I wanted to set up a simple little party table for the kids.
This table was very low budget, and pretty simple to do. My neighbor used to work for Bath and Body Works, and has a lot of their holiday decor at her house. {She couldn’t stand to see it be thrown away, so she “rescued it”} When I was dropping off the pumpkin spice donuts at her house, I saw the sweetest little cardboard ghost and I KNEW I needed to borrow him for a party. She graciously agreed, and carried him home with a smile on my face. But, I couldn’t just have one ghost….so, I traced the ghost I borrowed onto a piece of scrap wood in our garage and cut her out with a jigsaw. You could do this with cardboard and scissors too. My son helped me sand and paint her. Once the white paint was completely dry, I added eyes and trim to match the borrowed ghost. I quickly made a canvas and iron on vinyl BOO banner with my Cricut Maker and Easy Press. I also made a cute little bow and hot glued it to the girl ghost.
Before my niece and nephew arrived, I covered the table with a cute polka dotted table runner, and propped the ghosts against the wall. I tied the BOO banner to the “hands” on the ghosts so they were holding it between them. I added some pumpkins to the table, as well as a few treat cups filled with candy pumpkins.
The kids were super excited to see the party table, and learn that we would be carving small pumpkins that night. I love being able to surprise my boys and my niece and nephew with parties just because!
