Mistletoe and Margaritas Holiday Party

This month I’m in charge of hosting our supper club and I am so excited for our celebration this week I can hardly wait. I love entertaining any time of the year, but hosting celebrations during the holidays is like the Super Bowl for an avid entertainer like myself. It’s when you get to go big and pull out all the show stoppers, or get creative and try something new. Which is exactly what I did with this year’s Margaritas and Mistletoe theme.

If your going to throw a holiday party with a southwest flair you are going to need a tree to match! I am in love with the giant blow up cactus strung with bright Christmas lights. The base is also the perfect place for our gift exchange gifts. I also made holiday themed succulent terrariums which made the perfect centerpieces for our dinner party.

Speaking of gifts, don’t you just love these cute printable cactus themed gift tags I made?! And let’s not forget about the adorable DIY cactus ornament that doubles as gift tag and party favor!

This Christmas fiesta calls for my favorite type of food, Mexican food of course. I’ll be serving brisket tacos and chicken enchiladas, but wanted a fun appetizer that was different than the typical chips and salsa. This tequila lime snack mix served in mini margarita glasses fits the bill. It is delicious and so easy to make.

Of course, you can’t forget about the festive signature cocktail. A cranberry margarita is the perfect holiday drink for this little fiesta. Or you can make your favorite non-alcoholic party punch and put it in the adorable cactus drink dispenser. I think it would be fun to add a string of battery powered LED lights to this cactus too to really give it that Christmas feel.
