My adorable 4 year old has caught the party bug! I have been very busy the past few months planning and hosting a variety of parties and I guess it has rubbed off.
While putting her to bed a few night ago she looked up at me very matter of fact and informed me that her monkey (her stuffed lovey that goes everywhere with her) was having a birthday on Thursday and she needed to have a party for her.
I didn’t really think much about this until the next day while she was helping me run errands at Hobby Lobby, she insisted we get paper to make invitations for Monkey’s party. She then proceeded to plan the party aisle by aisle and even sweet talked me into making a new party outfit for monkey with the sparkly pink fabric she picked out.
So I caved and told her we could have a party. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a party and it was impossible to resist her sweet face and enthusiasm. Besides she had already planned it and informed several family members of the little shindig! 🙂
She made invitations and we delivered them to the guest who were invited (Thanks Aunt Bethany, Uncle John & Daddy for coming to the party!)
Aubrey told me what she wanted at the party (pink balloons, a banner, cookies with sprinkles, lemonade, pink plates, games and presents.) She went to the store with me and picked out everything herself. I also let her pick out some of the other decorations for my party stash.
She helped decorate the table and make the food.
Her excitmentment was beyond cute! She wanted to make sure she was extra fancy for today’s party and put on her new Hello Kitty fingernails.
So today we celebrated Monkey’s 3rd birthday!
Aubrey was the perfect party hostess and although it seemed a little crazy to be hosting a full blown party for a stuffed monkey, her smile was worth it all!
Happy Birthday Monkey!
Love the monkey! So fun!
