I’m in glittery and gold DIY heaven! I’m speaking at the SNAP! Creativity at Your Fingertips conference in a week and I’ve been working on several projects for my upcoming workshop. Halfway through I ran out of gold spray paint. I went to two locations looking for the same gold I had been using. I found out it is no longer being sold and I was having trouble finding a close match, that is until I found my favorite new DIY supply…Rust-Oleum Glitter Gold spray paint.
This stuff is life changing, I tell you LIFE CHANGING. No more sticky spray adhesive and glitter gone wild. Glitter is a hot trend right now, but I’ve avoided it because of the huge mess it typically makes. Now, I can make everything in sight glittery and gold (I seriously may need an intervention!) This spray paint has the perfect coverage, the glitter doesn’t flake off and the mess is contained outside just like any other spray paint project.
Here is one of the projects I made using my new BFF. I taped off my dollar store vase with the design I wanted. Then I lightly sprayed a base coat of matte gold. I let that dry and then hit it with the Rust-Oleum Glitter Gold spray paint. After it dried I removed the tape and admired my pretty new glittery and gold vase, seriously love it!
Can you tell I love it? I can’t wait to show you all of the projects I’ve used it on, but they have to stay hush-hush until next week after my presentation. Seriously, run to your local home improvement store (I found mine at Home Depot) to get some of this AMAZING glittery and gold goodness. Oh, and if you use it leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
I bought this the other day, and am kind of wondering if I got a defective bottle – it shoots out very quickly, and it though it disperses very well in the air (and on to the floor underneath) when it hits my target object, it basically just runs down the sides. I’m following instructions in reference to how far away I should be using it, so that’s not an issue. Also, when I went back to do a second coat after allowing the first to dry for several hours, the first coat literally ran the second the wet spray touched it. Definitely not successful for me 🙁
Sorry to hear that Jessica. I would take it back to the store and let them know it isn’t working properly. It sounds like the glitter has separated from the adhesive stuff and is making it runny. Also, make sure it isn’t being stored or used in a cold environment, sometimes that will make the paint not stick. Hopefully if you try it again it’s a home run!
