How to Decorate a Mantel
Decorating my mantel in my living room is one of my favorite ways to freshen up my home for each holiday and season. I teamed up with Oriental Trading to create this spring mantel. Hop on over to Oriental Trading to see all of the products used and details for creating your own Bunnies and Carrots Easter Mantel. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of my favorite details.
While I frequently change out my mantel decor, one thing that typically always stays is an old vintage window that we salvaged from my husband’s grandparent’s farm. I wanted to brighten it up and make it a focal point for my carrot patch-inspired decor.
When I spotted this Orange Plaid Table Runner from Oriental Trading, I knew it was a perfect inspiration for my mantel decorations. I cut the table runner to fit behind the vintage window. I love how it adds a fun pop of color in a simple and inexpensive way.
Next, I layered a Mixed Green Wreath over the window. I love how the greenery gives it a fresh spring feel while the orange buffalo plaid gives it a fun pop of texture and color.
I used the mixed green garland and hung it from the front of the mantel. Adding greenery is a great way to bring the outdoors inside for a fresh garden-inspired feel.
Bunnies and Carrots Easter Decorations
I loved the whimsical look of the Bunny Pom-Pom Garland but wanted it to coordinate with my vintage window. So, I cut out ears from the orange plaid table runner and hot glued them to the felt ears.
I added Glitter Foam Carrots in between each fluffy bunny to create this cute and simple bunnies and carrot garland.
DIY Carrot Patch Wooden Sign
I used my Cricut to make a DIY Carrot Patch sign that helped pull this theme together. I used the Stained Wood Sign that I sanded down and lightened up with a wood stain to create a more natural look and feel.
Next, I used the Peter Rabbit SVG and cut it out on black vinyl using my Cricut Maker 3. The Cricut Maker 3 makes it super easy to cut large signs, like this one, in a snap. I used Smart Vinyl so I didn’t have to use a mat, which made making this sign super easy.
When it comes to decorating your mantel don’t forget to complete the look by focusing on the entire space and not just the mantel ledge.
I placed a large wooden lantern, that I added a spring floral swag to on the hearth of the mantel. Then I added a whimsical crate of fabric carrots and faux flowers to bring the entire spring look together.
This Farmhouse Carrot Patch Easter Mantel is a fun way to bring the fresh elements of spring indoors to brighten up your home.
