So, it only seemed fitting that we keep the donut vibe going as we start thinking about the next holiday, Father’s Day! When my kids were in pre-school one of their favorite things was Donuts with Dad.

I was the one who typically spent my day volunteering or attending functions at preschool, so they thought it was extra special when Dad would come and hang out with them at school.

After chatting with my kids about how they wanted to celebrate and make Dad’s special day fun, it was unanimous that we should do a simple take on Donuts with Dad.

Ingredients: • 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar; • 1/4 Vanilla Bean; • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Light Corn Syrup; • 1 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk; • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, diced; • 1 Tablespoon Bourbon

Ingredients

• 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
• 1/4 Vanilla Bean
• 1 1/2 Teaspoons Light Corn Syrup
• 1 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
• 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, diced
• 1 Tablespoon Bourbon

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the brown sugar, vanilla bean, and corn syrup and bring the mixture to a boil, whisking constantly.
Once the brown sugar is fully melted, reduce the mixture to a simmer and add the condensed milk, butter, and bourbon.
Continue to simmer, stirring, until all the butter is incorporated and the glaze is smooth.
