It might seem a bit early to star planning for Halloween parties, but to be honest I’ve been holding off as long as I could! I love Halloween and I especially love entertaining during this spooktacular time of year. Last year we hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner Party and it was a suspense filled evening of laughter and fun. It will be hard to top last year’s party, but we are off to a screaming start with this DIY Floral Skull Centerpiece.
There are no bones about it, guest are going to love this “Bone Appetite” skeleton themed Halloween dinner party. But, before we invite friends over for a bone chilling evening of delight we need to set the stage with a simple and stunning centerpiece. I may have a slight obsession with skeletons, and every time I spot a spine-tingling skull I get excited. Naturally, when I found this paper pulp skull container at World Market I knew it would be perfect for our skeleton themed dinner party.
This centerpiece will take center stage on our dinner party for friends. With just a few supplies you too can transform your dinner table into a creepy and scary sight that will ensure your Halloween party is a scream!
What You’ll Need:
- Paper Pulp Skull Container
- Fresh Flowers
- Black Silk Flowers
- Small cup or jar
- Scissors
Remove the top part of the skull container and find a cup or jar that will fit inside. I ended up using one of my acrylic stemless wine glasses. Fill the glass with water and place it inside the skull.
Trim your flowers to fit in the skull container and start arranging them until the container is full.
Once you’ve created your floral arrangement add some extra creepy elements like barbed wire running through the flowers and a spider climbing on the skull.
I want my guest to have something delightful to feast their eyes on while they enjoy dinner and throwing in a few spiders and crows to this table setting added a real element of creepy without going overboard. To complete the look for our dinner party I layered fabric, decorative gauze fabric, and old vintage books down the middle of the table. I love these black metal claw taper candle holders and scattered a few of them down the table.
Black ravens keep a watchful eye on guest as they feast on eyeball soup, decomposed salad and grilled ribs.
Dinning by candlelight will definitely create a spooky mood for our Halloween party. These flameless LED skeleton, bug and raven candles will create the perfect eerie ambiance for our fright night get-together.
There are no bones about it, friends will love being a guest at this Halloween Dinner Party. The DIY Floral Skull Centerpiece will complete the bone chilling look of this dinner party and give guest a spine-tingling fright.
