Summer is here and it is going to be hot, hot, hot! And not just because of the scorching Texas heat, no it’s going to be a HOT summer of crafting with the latest Cricut product, Cricut Infusible Ink.
I am so excited about this new product from Cricut that I couldn’t wait to show you how to use it with multiple Cricut Infusible Ink compatible blanks. Cricut Infusible Ink is the coolest new product to hit the crafting market and seamlessly interacts with and enhances the Cricut ecosystem, especially the Cricut Maker and EasyPress 2.
Earlier I shared how to create a fun Just Chillin’ Summer T-shirt and now I’m going to show you how to use the Cricut Infusible Ink coaster blanks to make a set of DIY Colorful Summer Coasters with Cricut Infusible Ink.

- Cricut EasyPress Mat
- Cricut Square Coaster Blank (Compatible with Infusible Ink)
- Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets

- Free Colorful Summer Coaster SVG
Cricut Infusible Ink Summer Coasters Project Steps:
Step 1: Place Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet onto the Standard Grip mat, liner side down. I used the patterned rainbow transfer sheets for my coasters, which is what I also used for the Just Chillin’ Summer T-shirt.
Step 2: In Design Space, open the Summer Coaster SVG design and select the Make button. Be sure to mirror your design before cutting.
Step 3: Select browse all materials, then select Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet. If you are using a Cricut Explore machine, turn the Smart Set Dial to Custom first.
Step 4: Load the mat into the machine, then press the flashing Go button.
Step 5: Once the image is finished cutting unload the transfer sheet and weed your designs. Start by removing it from the mat and trimming away any unused areas of the sheet. Gently roll the cut design so the lines separate and are more visible. Make sure your fingers are dry if weeding with fingers. You may want to reach for your weeding tool, but “cracking” the cut this way will make it easier to remove excess paper from in and around your design. Trim the clear liner so it does not extend beyond the Cricut EasyPress heat plate.
Now that you have cut out your design on the Infusible Ink transfer sheets it is time to apply it to your Cricut Infusible Ink compatible blank. It is important to follow the proper care and steps for your selected material to ensure optimum performance.
Step 6: Preheat the Cricut EasyPress 2 to 400° F.
Step 8: Use a lint-free cloth to wipe down the entire surface of the coasters. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. Even tiny little fibers can create imperfection in the transfer.
Step 9: Cover the Cricut EasyPress Mat with the white cardstock to protect your mat. Next, Place the coaster on the piece of white card stock and then place the design face down on the coaster with clear liner on top. If you are using the large Cricut EasyPress 2 you can do more than one coaster at a time, but I personally would not recommend doing more than 2 at a time.
Step 10: Cover the coaster with butcher paper. The butcher paper comes with the box of Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets so be sure to save those when you open the package.
Step 11: Place the EasyPress 2, which should be set to 400° F for 60 seconds. Gently place the press on top of the project and keep the stack as still as possible, do not slide or move your hands during transfer. You do not need to apply pressure to the EasyPress for this project.
Step 12: When the beep sounds, slowly lift the press, again be careful to not move the stack.
Step 13: CAUTION: The coasters will be very hot, let them cool completely before handling! Once they have cooled slowly remove the butcher paper, and the liner with the design to reveal your colorful summer coaster designs.
