Last night I had the opportunity to attend a craft night at the new Michaels Store in Southlake and we got a sneak peek of all the new changes coming to the stores. Including the new Make Market line for DIY project and home décor ideas – all made with simple, on-trend surfaces and textures like chalk, denim, galvanized, burlap and cork. This year one of the hot new craft trends is Denim and I have to say, I think this is a trend I’m going to love!
Last night we spent some time crafting with the latest products and I made this adorable Denim Placemat with Pocket. These fun placemats will turn an ordinary dinner into an extraordinary evening with just a few extra little touches and some delicious BBQ! Wouldn’t these be perfect for family BBQs and cowboy themed birthday parties too?!
These were super simple to make and you can get all of the details and instructions here. I used the new denim washi tape (Yes, denim washi tape!!) to jazz up my wooden utensils and the new chalkboard ribbon to make a fun little flag for my paper straws. Aren’t the fabulous!?
If you live in the DFW metroplex make sure you take a trip out to the Michaels Store Southlake location this Sunday, February 8th {located at 1051 E. Southlake Blvd} for the grand opening. I promise you are going to love it! There are lots of grand opening celebrations beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a performance by the Carrol Dragon Cheer Squad at 9:45 am followed by hourly prize giveaways and a DJ from 3-5 pm. Oh, and get there early, the first 100 in line receive mystery gift cards of $10-$100!
