Each year I look forward to planning our annual Halloween party. I’ve always loved this time of year and have been hosting Halloween parties since way back in my High School days. I mean seriously what’s not to love…you can go all out with creepy recipes, frightfully festive decor and spooktacular costumes. With a touch of elegance and lots of spooky fun, this year I planned a special Mummy and Me Soiree for my favorite ‘mummies’ and their kids.
To me one of the most important parts of a party are the activities or party games. This year I kept everyone entertained with Mummy Bowling and a “Where’s My Mummy” scavenger hunt; a twist on the traditional “wrap the mummy” game.
These activities couldn’t have been any easier. For Mummy Bowling I wrapped bowling pins with the Cottonelle Triple Roll, secured the toilet paper with tape, added googly eyes and even a few bows to make my mummies. That’s it. Set up your mummy bowling pins and watch your little ones howl with delight as they try to knock down the mummies.
For our next game I decided to add my own twist to the classic Wrap the Mummy game and planned a “Where’s My Mummy” scavenger hunt. I wrote clues on white cardstock and then wrapped them with the toilet paper to make them look like mummies. The kids were divided into two teams and they had to race from one clue to the next to find their mummy. At the final clue they found a stack of Cottonelle Triple Roll toilet paper and they had to race to wrap someone up and see who could “find their mummy” first. This game was super fun and I loved that the Cottonelle Triple Roll was strong enough to hold up to the fast paced mummy wrap race.
I believe that Halloween parties can be creative, fun and affordable without breaking the bank. For our activities I knew I wanted to include the classic Halloween party game, Wrap the Mummy but in years past it’s been a miserable failure. Trying to save a few bucks I used the cheap-o toilet paper and it kept tearing and falling apart before the kids could get their mummy wrapped. Talk about frustrating. This year I headed to my favorite store, Target for supplies and while surveying the TP aisle I spied a package that said it was 30% stronger, so I grabbed a package of Cottonelle Triple Roll and hoped this would solve my mummy game woes. I was thrilled that one package of TP created three fun activities for our Mummy and Me Soiree. These party games are definitely ‘mummy’ and kid approved! What’s your favorite Halloween party game?

Mummy bowling – That is such a cute and clever idea, Mariah!
The mummy wrap game reminds me of that bridal shower game where you wrap the bride in a toilet paper ‘dress’….this is WAY cuter and appropriate. LOL

Thanks Chris! Ha, they made me play that game at my bridal shower and I remember think “this is so embarrassing and lame!” But you’re right it totally works for Halloween and kids parties. 🙂
