Color can make a difference in our homes and our moods. Whether it’s a hint of color in a necklace that adds to your outfit or a pop of color that brightens a room, or a special gift, color can definitely have an impact. Which is why I was drawn to the new Sparkle® paper towels with a hint of color, they can make a big difference in your home, your mood and your everyday world.
When it comes to color I definitely have a few favorites and they vary depending on whether we are talking fashion or home décor. But, I’ve noticed that there are a few colors that I’m drawn to over and over again, whether it be in my wardrobe or home décor. Two of my favorite colors are yellow and blue and you can find these color popping up in lots of areas of my life. Yellow symbolizes joy, happiness, intellect and energy, while blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, stability, intelligence faith and confidence. I’d like to think I’m drawn to these colors because those are all qualities I strive for in my every day life.
I want to spread joy and happiness to others and the subtle design and color of the new Sparkle paper towels I use in my kitchen inspired me to do just that. The other day I was chatting on the phone with a friend, while doing the dishes, and I could tell that she was feeling a little blue. She needed a little pick-me-up and the subtle pattern in the paper towels inspired me to whip up a special little gift for my friend, a simple way to add a little “sparkle” to her day.
I decided to make her a gift that would encourage her to pamper herself and help her focus on what really matters. Plus, this simple Lemon Sugar Scrub gets a cheerful makeover with an unexpected hint of color with the new Sparkle® paper towels.
I started by making the Lemon Sugar Scrub. You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 coconut oil
- 4-5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
Mix the 2 cups of sugar with the coconut oil and incorporate. Next, add the 4-5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil and stir to incorporate.
Add the sugar scrub mixture to a half pint Mason jar.
Next, create a decorative wrap with the Sparkle® paper towel. First, tear off a sheet from the paper towels. Fold the bottom edge of the paper towel toward the center, then fold the top of the towel toward the center until both edges meet. Next, fold the paper towel in half to create the Mason Jar Wrap.
Wrap the paper towel around the Mason jar and secure with blue and yellow ribbon.
