Life is full of special moments; big moments, small moments and all those in between. I believe in (and love) celebrating “Just BEE-cause” and this tea party was the perfect occasion for doing just that with our friends.
I asked the incredibly talented team Driver from Piggy Bank Parties to help me bring my theme to life. They did not disappoint, I loved every little detail in this party package! The subtle flowers in the honeycomb pattern, the darling beehive boxes, the curved details on the banner, the whimsical bee and it’s dainty dotted trail.
The day before the party I found this beautiful dresser at a flea market for only $40. I have been looking for a dresser like this for my daughter’s room and was ecstatic to have gotten such a great deal. While driving home I decided it would be the perfect display table for our tea party. My sweet friend Elayne recently moved to a new house and she graciously allowed me to host the party in her backyard (with a pool.) The setting couldn’t have been more perfect!
Our little guest enjoyed PB & Honey tea sandwiches, Fruit with Honey Yogurt Dip, Lemon Honey cupcakes, Chocolate Covered Oreos and Honey Rosemary Lemonade. I really wanted a beehive cake so I made one (don’t laugh) and added adorable buzzing bees from Edible Details. Brittany also captured the dainty details in the adorable cupcake toppers and 3D fondant beehives. I ordered honeycomb Chocolate Covered Oreos from Sweet Temptationsand not only were they delicious but they looked so pretty.
I purchased local honey and sweet orange blossom honey sticks from a local beekeeper. I used the honey to make all the food including the Honey Rosemary Lemonade which was super refreshing on such a hot day.
I wanted a fun activity or craft for the kids and when I bought the honey they sent me home with all kinds of pamphlets about honey. One of them had a recipe for Peanut Butter Honey Play Dough and decided this would not only be perfect to keep them entertained, but also a great little party favor.
The beehive favor boxes were placed at each place setting and filled with Bit-o-Honey candies and stickers that the beekeeper gave me. They were so cute and the perfect parting gift.
I filled a jar with Honeycomb cereal and put out some black and white polka dot baking cups out for the kids to enjoy a little treat.
This was one sweet party and my girls loved having a tea party with their friends “Just BEE-cause”
