Dr. Seuss Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Party

Our twins celebrated their first birthday in style…Dr. Seuss style that is. We threw a Thing 1 & Thing 2 birthday bash for our sweeties and I had a blast planning for this special day.Sign for the front door

My inspiration came from Amy @ Stem Parties many months ago while I was pondering what to do for their birthday. I found several other Dr. Seuss themed parties here, here & here. Armed with lots of great ideas I set out to create a spectacular party for our Thing 1 & 2!

I found these adorable party invitations & thank you cards on etsy at Magic by Marcy. She customized the invitations, was super quick and easy to work with, I love how they turned out!

One Fish, Two Fish…
(I put gold fish in the bowls & added some blue fuzz for easy & cute decorations)
Food Table (before all the food was out)

My hubby helped me make the Martha Stewart “pom poms” hanging above the food table. We also hung them throughout the house to add instant color & festive decor.

Cat in the Hat Centerpiece
Cupcakes & Smash Cakes

The cupcakes in the stands were supposed to look like this, but it was so humid that day and they “melted” before we got a picture.

The twins LOVED their birthday cake and ate lots of it! They were such a mess after they ate cake we had to take them in and give them a quick bath while everyone else enjoyed the yummy cupcakes.

(Piper in her tutu, isn’t she cute…even crying!)
Parker blowing bubbles with Grandpa Y.

Candy Bar for guest. Each guest was given a bag to fill up with lots of sweet treats before they left. This was one of my favorite things about the party, it provided instant decoration & it was a big hit with all the kiddos.

We had a blast at the party & hope our friends did too! It was so much fun to plan this whimsical Dr. Seuss inspired party and the smiles & giggles from our Thing 1 & Thing 2 made it all worth it!
