Did you watch the Super Bowl? What was your favorite part? My favorite part was hosting our annual Super Bowl Party, filling my home with friends and of course the good food! So whether you are screaming at the TV about the bad calls (I mean hello, who throws the ball when you are on the 1 yard line!!) or crying over the touching commercials (#likeagirl, #oneboldchoice) with a few of our simple Super Bowl Party Tips and some delicious snacks you can guarantee everyone will have a great time.
To turn this party from an ordinary Super Bowl Party to an EXTRAORDINARY one I started by setting up a simple football themed table where I could set out all of the snacks. I bought some artificial turf carpet from Home Depot to make a football field table runner last year and I love being able to use it over and over again. Because we weren’t cheering for a specific team I decided to keep everything generic with black and white “referee stripes” and yellow “penalty flags” in the rest of the decor.
I made sure to put out lots of tasty snacks that the adults and kids could help themselves to throughout the game. I’m loving the new Gold Emblem snack line at CVS, it’s not only convenient but they actually taste great too. The biggest hit was the butter popcorn which we served in football popcorn boxes and the trail mix that the kids used to play Super Bowl Bingo. Score big with our custom DIY food containers, perfect for dips, crackers and veggies. Oh, and we can’t forget about the cookies. A perfect way to end a sweet evening hanging out with friends.
Help guest keep track of their drinks with our easy DIY Chalkboard Football Drink Labels.
And just in case you indulged in too much good food, don’t forget to pick up some antacids while you are at CVS!
Here are some helpful tips for planning your extraordinary Super Bowl Party:
1. Keep it Simple.
It doesn’t have to be complicated to be Extraordinary, keep things simple and focus on 1 to 2 details to make it memorable. Set up a table with a few festive touches like our football field table runner and PVC pipe goal post to set the fun and festive tone for the party.
2. Ask for Help
As the host of the party we often times feel like we have to do it all. But, the reality of it is that your friends and family love to pitch in and help. They want to bring their famous buffalo chicken dip to share or try out that new recipe they saw on Pinterest. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends to bring a dish, trust me they will be glad you asked.
3. VIP Viewing
Unlike a casual get together where you can find groups of people congregating in various locations throughout the house, a Super Bowl Party is all about VIP viewing in front of the TV where all the action takes place. Make sure you have plenty of comfortable seating all around the TV so guest can relax and enjoy the game.
4. Keep things exciting.
A boring party is never fun for you or the guest so make sure you keep things exciting with a few planned activities. For our Super Bowl party we like to have a little something for the adults and the kiddos. The adults bring their cash and everyone gets in on a little friendly wager with football squares and the kids loved playing Super Bowl Bingo, which we downloaded from Studio DIY.
5. Shop Smarter
Make it easy on yourself and shop smarter for your Super Bowl Party. Make a list, plan ahead and get a variety of snack foods you know your party-goers will love. The Gold Emblem snacks at CVS make it easy for a one stop shop, and don’t worry if you waited until the last minute, they’ve got you covered with convenient hours. You can stock up on favorites like butter popcorn, pretzel sticks, baked wheat crackers and mixed nuts. And at incredible affordable prices you can make sure you have plenty of game day goodies so you don’t run out!
