I love hosting Thanksgiving. I look forward to planning, preparing and creating a beautiful environment to bring families together for a chaotic, fun filled day of gratitude. This year my family is traveling for the holiday so I decided it would be a great excuse to finally host a Friendsgiving dinner for our friends that don’t have family in town. This easy Friendsgiving Table Setting includes simple DIY projects that will help you create a beautiful display to gather with friends for a celebration of gratitude and thanks.
I fell in love with the aqua, navy and gold color pallet in the Target Dollar Spot and decided this would be our color scheme for our first Friendsgiving. I found colorful napkins, placemats and mini pumpkins, tags and more to help create the perfect place setting for our Friendsgiving.
The secret to an eye-catching table setting is the layers. A colorful table runner, metallic place mats and woven chargers add interest to the beautiful meal that is being served.
I made DIY napkin rings to match my new aqua napkins. This is such an easy way to dress up your Thanksgiving table and one of those projects that you could make while you wait for the turkey to roast to golden perfection. I didn’t want everything to be matchy matchy so I created a few different variations for each place setting. I made a few place settings with the pretty painted napkin rings, and a few with the acorns and leaves cut out of scrapbook paper.
I painted a wooden block and used one of the Thanksgiving themed stencils I found in the Target Dollar Spot to create a simple sentiment to echo how thankful we are for such amazing friends.
Make your holiday extra special for friends by setting a table that will wow! Now that the table is all set I can’t wait to have our friends over for our Friendsgiving celebration.
