Nothing melts my heart more than pulling out decorations and finding my kids handprint’s from previous years. You don’t seem to realize just how much they’ve grown until you compare those tiny little hands year after year. This year we made a sweet smelling Sugar and Spice Handprint Turkey Banner to commemorate those tiny little hands and they many things they are thankful for.
The best part about this craft is the sweet smell of Thanksgiving that you’ll enjoy as the aroma of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg waft through the air. This project is already simple, but with the new Imperial Sugar Cinnamon Sugar Shaker it’s even easier to make.
All you need are a few supplies:
- Imperial Sugar Cinnamon Sugar Shaker
- Ground cloves
- Ground nutmeg
- Glue
- Paint brush
- Banner or blank piece of white paper
- Permanent Marker
We used the banner kit from Stampin’ Up for our project, but you can also make your own banner or just use blank pieces of white paper for this project.
Liberally apply glue to each kids hand. Use the paint brush to evenly spread it out.
Carefully place their hand on the banner and then sprinkle with the Imperial Sugar Cinnamon Sugar Shaker, ground cloves and nutmeg. Shake off the excess.
Draw a face on your handprint turkey and write your child’s name and the year so you can cherish those tiny little hands for years to come.
String the banner together and add ribbon. To go with our adorable handprints I also asked my kids to write down things they were thankful for. Not only do I have their sweet handprints, but we can compare their handwritting from year to year too!
I love this little banner, it makes my heart happy and my house smell good too! Make sure you stop by the Kids Kitchen for more great ideas for Thanksgiving craft ideas from Imperial Sugar.
