Now that the school year is in full swing and everyone has adjusted to waking up early, homework and busy schedules it’t time to focus on making life as stress-free and efficient as possible. Back to school time is often rushed and chaotic, but I’m here to today to share my tips for stress-free back to school meal and snack ideas along with coupon codes that will make tackling meal time a breeze!
One of the challenges we face as moms is meal planning for 3 healthy and satisfying meals a day, plus you can’t forget the snacks! I don’t know about you, but when you combine that with all the other tasks and responsibilities that come with a new school year it can get overwhelming. Fortunately I just discovered four great new products and services through BabbleBoxx that are going to be a game changer for my sanity this school year.
First sanity saver tip, use Shipt grocery delivery service. I just signed up for this service, which is different from other grocery delivery services that I’ve tried and so far I love the easy and convenience of it. Shipt lets you order from local stores and have it delivered within a one-hour window, which is so nice when you realize you are out of key ingredients you need to make dinner or pack school lunches. Here in my area, Shipt is currently available for Kroger and Target and when you sign up for an annual membership ($49 annual fee) you get free delivery on all orders of $35 or more. I was so pleased with ease and convenience of the Shipt app, which allows you to browse, search and shop the in-store assortment of products online, as well as add notes for your personal shopper on preferences. You can choose a one-hour delivery timeframe and pay for your order all within the app while sitting in the carpool lane, now that is what I call time saving at it’s best!
Next sanity saver tip, purchase healthy, allergy free snacks your kids will actually eat and love! While my kids don’t have any allergies, we do attend a school where we can’t send peanut products due to other students peanut allergies. MadeGood has delicious allergy-free snacks like granola bars, granola bites (the Strawberry Granola Minis were our favorite!) and cookies that my kids will actually eat. These organic, gluten-free snacks are made in a facility that is free of peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, egg, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish so if you have kids with allergies I would absolutely recommend MadeGood snacks. Attach a cute back to school lunchbox note and drop them in their lunchbox or backpack for a fun snack that you know they will love!
My final sanity saver tip is to make easy and delicious meals ahead of time with quality products you can feel good about feeding your family! Dinnertime during the school year can be tough. The kids come home from school starving, you have to get homework done and everyone ready to rush out the door for sports practice. In an effort to save time, going to a drive-thru can be very tempting, but with a little prep and quality products you can skip the drive-thru and feed your family a wholesome meal you can feel good about.
I discovered these two new products in my BabbleBoxx and they will definitely become staples in my meal planning routine. I used the EatPre ground beef and Lundberg Rosemary Olive Oil Quinoa to make these these delicious Italian Stuffed Peppers with Quinoa. My entire family loved these, and my son even asked for seconds!
EatPre is an online meat delivery service that offers grass-fed and grass-finished beef that has been raised with care and has no added antibiotics or hormones. Finding quality grass-fed and grass-finished beef at our local grocery store is a challenge, so I love that I can order it online and get it shipped directly to my door. We received a chuck roast, 85% lean ground beef, 95% lean ground beef, a New York Strip, and a filet. I used the 85% lean ground beef to make the Italian Stuffed Peppers, but my family said that the steaks were their favorite so we will definitely be adding more of those to our next order. You can try them for 10% off thru 10/31 using code GIGGLES and get an additional 40% off 80 and 85% lean ground beef using code BTS40 through 9/21.
The Lundberg White Rice & Quinoa Entree is an easy, prep-ahead meal that makes a great side dish and leftovers for lunch. The Rice Pilaf and Rosemary Olive Oil options are organic, vegan and gluten-free. They also only take 20 minutes to make and when you pair them with a protein, add some fresh veggies you have a wholesome and satisfying meal. And I promise you it beats whatever you would have picked up in the drive-thru any day!
The prep for this meal was so easy, and the flavor combinations were spot on. My family loved this meal and it will definitely be added to our weekly menu plan again in the future. I can’t wait to try some of their other flavors like the Cilantro Lime Rice or Korean BBQ Rice.
I made the Rosemary Olive Oil Quinoa for my Italian Stuffed Peppers. While the quinoa was cooking I also chopped up and sautéed an onion, carrots and celery. Once the quinoa was ready I mixed in the vegetables, add the quinoa to the EatPre ground beef and stuffed these hearty mixture inside of bell peppers. I topped them with a little bit of mozzarella cheese and baked them for 20-30 minutes until the peppers were tender.
This school year save your sanity and order groceries online with Shipt and prepare delicious meals and snacks with EatPre, Lundberg and MadeGood. While I can’t change the piles of homework, multiple sports schedules and after school commitments, I can make sure I’m giving my family the fuel it needs to succeed. Having these healthy, good-for-you options on-hand has helped take the stress out of back to school meals and snacks, without sacrificing quality or time…and that’s something we can all feel good about!
