Marilyn of The ArtsyGirl Connection contacted me and asked if I would participate in her Project Pink: Painting the Blog World Pink for a Day in honor of Breast Cancer and I of course said yes.
We all know someone who has affected by Breast Cancer and this subject especially touches close to my heart. My grandmother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in 2004 and she was one of the lucky ones to battle and overcome this disease that touches so many. My grandma is one of the most kind and gracious women I know. She is always taking care of others and she is such a fun and joyful person to be around, I’m grateful that she beat Breast Cancer and is here with us today!
In 2005 I participated in the Breast Cancer 3-day to honor and support the cause and to this day it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. It was tough, we walked 60 miles in the HOT Texas heat in June, but it was worth every step and blister to finish and be surrounded by thousands all there to support and honor those they love! I look forward to being able to participate in this incredible event again one day soon.
I had every intention of getting a “pink project” put together so I could share today, but Halloween and several other parties have taken over my life. I hope that you will head over and see the other bloggers that are participating and involved with this great cause!
Sweet post! That was a hot summer for the 3-day. Michael's mom and aunt walked it too. On my bucket list for sure.
