Our Texas weather has been all kinds of crazy lately. For the most part we’ve enjoyed a rather mild winter, but lately we’ve been hit with record low temperatures, ice and snow and while we loved having a few fun snow days I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring. I can’t think of a better way to welcome warmer weather than with a Paris Inspired Springtime Brunch.
This month’s Michaels Makers Challenge is all about Springtime in Paris with lots of Parisian-inspired projects, plus an exciting new contest where you enter to win the trip of a lifetime to Paris! But, first let me show you how to welcome spring with a beautiful, romantic and easy springtime brunch, perfect for two!
Dining al fresco is one of my favorite parts of spring, it adds an enjoyable dimension to dining and encourages an appreciation for the slower pace of life. So embrace the warmer weather, set up a bistro table outside, create a simple Parisian inspired menu with bright touches of spring and enjoy brunch with someone special.
You can’t welcome spring without flowers. Michaels has a fantastic selection of floral bouquets and these fresh blooms will be around long after spring is over. I put my new floral bouquet in my vintage milk glass vase and stacked it on books with the turquoise chalkboard frame I picked up at Michaels.
While I love spring I don’t have a green thumb and I admittedly have a hard time keeping plants alive. Which is why I love the vast selection of greenery at Michaels. I can spruce up my porch with touches of spring, like the planter box full of succulents and a metal watering can with spring blooms without having to worry about them dying. An old frame, chalkboard paint and my rough sketch of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris and my porch is ready for my Paris Inspired Springtime Brunch.
I always have an abundance of baskets, not only are they practical but they make a stylish way to serve fresh croissants or pastries. I found little mini pie dishes that perfectly matched my new spring napkins and used them to make individual mini quiches. Add some fresh fruit and you’ve got a simple and delicious Parisian inspired brunch.
Now it’s your turn! That’s right, you can enter to win the trip of a lifetime to Paris too. You could win a four-night trip for two to Paris, 1,000 euros, a VIP tour of the Louvre, private classes including sketching, floral arranging, baking and more! How? By creating your own Parisian-inspired art, floral, baking or paper crafting project and uploading a photo to https://paris.michaels.com/ through March 31. You can also share your project on social media using #SpringtimeInParis #Contest.
What’s your favorite things about spring?
Looks fabulous and I love the Eiffel Tower!
Thanks my sweet friend, I had to hand draw it because I ran out of time but next time I will definitely be using your chalkboard tutorial!
Very cute, but I wish there were recipes for the pastries, quiche and drinks…
Thanks! Most of the pasteries for this post were purchased at a local bakery, but I do have recipes for tasty croissants which you can find here, https://gigglesgalore.net/lemon-cheesecake-crescent-rolls and an easy quiche, https://gigglesgalore.net/bacon-spinach-and-mushroom-quiche
