I am super excited to share this little party (and a giveaway too) with you today! I have wanted to host an outdoor movie night for a long time, our schedules and the weather finally cooperated. On the last day of school we hosted an outdoor movie night to welcome SUMMER and celebrate with friends and family.
Once again I worked with the amazing Carli from Dimpleprints on the party design. I wanted a retro look with fun elements and of course the classic red, black and yellow color scheme. I’m always amazed at the details and number of options included in each package, it always have a hard time deciding what to incorporate.
Invitations were sent out to guest with the party details and an “admit one” movie ticket for each child. I rolled out the red carpet and welcomed guest with a custom marquee sign (ok, truth is I ran out of time to finish it…but it was my intention!)
I set up a small concession stand with lots of classic movie favorites. We had hot dogs, buttered popcorn, caramel popcorn, pickles, Twizzlers, yogurt covered raisins, Milk Duds, Junior Mints, Sour Patch Kids, Sugar Babies, Coca-Cola, and water. I set out small black and white polka dot candy cups for kids to fill up with goodies. Not only did I not want my little ones eating an entire box of candy, this also helped me stretch my budget. I purchased popcorn containers from the dollar spot at Target for each kid to fill up with popcorn.
We borrowed the movie screen and projector from my husband’s work. He set-up our laptop and outdoor speakers and we were ready for showtime. I wanted to show a movie that would be appropriate for kids age 4-8, but not something they had seen a million times. So we went with an oldie but goodie, Peter Pan. I laid out blankets, lots of pillows and lawn chairs for everyone to get cozy and enjoy the feature presentation.
It was such a fun experience for everyone and this is a party we will definitely be repeating again!
I am thrilled to announce that 3 lucky winners will have the chance to recreate this party.
