Today is Muffin Tin Monday! I LOVED today’s theme, Children’s Literature. We had lots of fun with our muffin tin today and enjoyed making a craft to go with it.
Our book selection for today’s theme was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Here is what the very hungry Aubrey had for lunch today…Side: Banana Caterpillar
First Row: Apple, Pear, Strawberries
Second Row: Oranges, Cheese & Sausage, Chocolate Cake & Pretzel Butterfly
Here is a close up of our Hungry Caterpillar.
Our craft project for today was our very own caterpillar. This easy project was lots of fun for Aubrey and she enjoyed making the connection between the caterpillar in the book & the yummy one she ate for lunch. Here is how you can make your very own…
1. Gather your supplies. Paper, string, straws, hole punch, scissors, pipe cleaners, embellishments, glue & tape. (I cut the circles and punched the holes in them & cut the straws before hand.) 2. Embellish the caterpillars body. Aubrey wanted a sparkly one so we used sequins. Glue eyes & antennas to one for the face.
3. Tape the legs (cut up pipe cleaner) to each circle.
4. String together alternating circles & straws.
5. Tie the end and enjoy your new friend!
Love the banana caterpillar!
Oh my goodness! We totally did the Very Hungry Caterpillar today, too! Love your take on it, especially the pear. Great minds! 😉
I like the caterpillars coming out of the fruit

very cute tin!
This is fantastic … that banana caterpillar – how cute, and the craft one, too? Thanks for sharing, I have some fun ideas for summer time now. Oh, I think this would be my kids’ fave, they would be beyond thrilled to have a gummy worm in all of their food items – what a fun idea!
OH WOW!!! I love your banana catepillar and the little worms coming out of the food!!! 🙂 And, I think it’s amazing that you are doing so many cool things while taking care of twins and everything else!! Love the names of your kids!!! 🙂
amazing! I never would have thought of this idea!
