My dear friend Elayne who is the creative genius behind Elayne Dunn Photography and the one who brings many of my parties to life with her beautiful photos asked me to help her with a special Mother’s Day project for her church. Since we regularly trade favors I couldn’t wait to help her set up a special display to honor the mother’s at her church.
To honor each mother she handmade 100 journals to give to them on Sunday along with a beautiful rose. Journals are a fantastic gift idea for moms, it allows them to write down and record special moments, thoughts, dreams or even their to-do list. And these pretty journals make sure she is doing it in style!
So I gathered up some of my old vintage suitcases, perfume bottles, burlap and other pretty things I had on hand to set up a beautiful display to showcase the journals. I simply arranged these beautiful journals and added a few extra touches to create a lovely display.
I want to wish all of the moms, grandmas and mothers-to-be out there (especially my mom, mother-in-law, grandmas and sister) a very Happy Mother’s Day!
I’ll be back with a tutorial on how you can create your very own journal to record the everyday moments that make motherhood special.

This is a beautiful idea for Mother's Day. I love writing down my memories as my first year of motherhood has gone by. It's great to look back and think about how much my little girl has grown. Words are almost more powerful than the picture memories sometimes. I'm sure the mothers loved the gift!
