I’m a big fan of brunch, especially for entertaining and holidays. It is much more laid back than hosting a dinner party and you and your guest don’t have to get up early to mix and mingle. Brunch is always a good idea. And a Waffle Bar Brunch is a brilliant idea!
Don’t fret with waiting at crowded restaurants or having to cook this Mother’s Day, host a Waffle Bar Brunch to celebrate the women in your life. All I wanted for Mother’s Day this year is to sleep in and to not have to cook. But, I still wanted to spend time with my family celebrating the moms of the group so I decided to host a brunch at our house. This has got to be one of the easiest parties you will ever throw.
I love the concept of any “bar” party where guest get to serve themselves. It takes the pressure off of you as the hostess and lets guest choose what flavors and ingredients they like best. A waffle bar is perfect because you can set out a few waffle makers and the pre-mixed batter and let guest make their own waffles. Of you can even buy store bought Belgium waffles.
Offer a variety of toppings and let your guest go crazy. Here are the toppings that we included at our waffle bar:
- whipped cream
- mini chocolate chips
- coconut flakes
- fresh fruit
- maple syrup
- strawberry jam
- almond butter
- nuts
- sprinkles
- fresh mint
Everybody can dig in to their favorite flavors and even mix it up and try something different when they go back for seconds. Personally, I love whipped cream and fresh strawberries. What would be your perfect flavor combination?
Set the bar with pretty plates, napkins and utensils so guest can help themselves. I used the vibrant new Spritz Spring Pop party line from Target. I just love the pop of color and thought it was just the right amount of pizzazz for our laid back brunch. I served milk and juice in adorable mini milk jugs (they are my favorite new party obsession) with colorful paper straws.
A Waffle Bar Brunch is a great way to host and entertain, it’s perfect for Mother’s Day, baby showers, a girls weekend or simply just because…remember brunch is always a good idea!
Brunch is my favorite meal and I love hosting brunches for family and friends. And waffles are always on the menu, whether it’s chicken and waffles or top-your-on waffle bar. Your waffle bar is making me really hungry. Looks scrumptious!
Thank you Alli. I haven’t done chicken and waffles yet, that’s a great idea! 🙂
I love this idea. I should leave this up on the laptop when I walk away so that my husband gets the hint 😉
Lol, now that’s a good idea. 😉
Waffles are one of my favorite foods. Not sure why I haven’t thought of doing this with the kids. How fun, and so, so tasty.
Thanks Jenn! Definitely give it a try with your kids, they will love it!
This looks like such a fun idea. I think the kids would really love doing this this for this for mothers day because they could prepare the ingredients and get everything ready. I bet this would be fun for kids to do over the summer too.
Thank you Jay, it’s definitely a great way to get the kids involved and to help celebrate mom on her special day.
A waffle bar is such a perfect brunch idea. I mean, who doesn’t love waffles?
Right?!? Thanks for stopping by Pam.

Loving this idea, waffles can be so yummy and you can do so many things with them because most any topping goes well with them. A fun way to enjoy brunch with family or friends.
Thank you Sarah, we agree there are so many yummy ways to enjoy waffles.
What a great brunch idea! I know my kids would love to be able to top their waffles however they want.
Thank you Vera, my kids had lots of fun with it too. They requested them again, but it’s an occasional thing since they tend to go crazy with the toppings. 😉
I love brunch. There’s nothing better than a waffle bar. I love all the different toppings and options you included. I think I’ll have waffles tomorrow!
Thank you Jenn, it was lots of fun to plan and everyone loved creating their own waffles.

Yummy! I would have to agree with you on sleeping in! Lol 🙂
This is so freaking cute, I love the plates. I’ve totally seen those spoons in the store. The food is making me drool. I love brunching at home because the Mother’s Day lines are insane. So cute, so festive.
Thank you so much Mimi, the plates are from Target. 😉 I agree, I hate going out on Mother’s Day because the lines and wait are insane. I’d rather enjoy my family at home with a simple brunch.
Waffles are by far my favourite breakfast food. This is a great idea and adds a lot of fun to the start of the day.
Thank you Bella, my kids are huge waffle fans but I don’t make them often so they loved this. 😉

Yes, I couldn’t agree more Brittany, add a few mimosas and it’s an awesome party!
