Today is the 1st day of Spring and we have embraced the warmer weather, the trees and flowers blooming and the birds singing. This week we have incorporated several activities and outings to celebrate Spring.
On Tuesday we went to the Dallas Arboretum to bask in the sunshine and smell the flowers. The tulips were beautiful and we enjoyed our view of White Rock Lake while we ate our picnic lunch. Aubrey had a blast running up and down the hill dancing and singing, while Parker and Piper lounged about on the blanket soaking up some rays (Mommy realized when we got home that they may have gotten a bit to much sun and will remember to take sunblock next time!). I invisioned that we would get some adorable pictures of all 3 kids with the beautiful flowers as the backdrop, but alas it is impossible to get all 3 kids to look at the camera at the same time, not to mention Aubrey rarely wants to sit still for her picture these days.
To keep the Spring theme going we have made several crafts inspired by Spring Blooms. On Thursday we made a flower that Aubrey insisted we take to Daddy at his office. She was very proud of her flower and wanted him to show his “friends” at work.
Today we made a a Japaneses Cherry Tree. The trees are starting to bloom and Aubrey loves pointing out the “popcorn” trees with the pretty white blossoms and the pink ones so this was a great activity. We got the idea from a wonderful craft blog that I check out frequently, head over to No time for flash cards for more on this craft and other great ideas for toddlers.
Tell Aubrey that Daddy’s ‘friends’ at work think her purple flower is very very pretty!! And it looks wonderful on daddy’s desk! (I think he’s even had a client or two comment on it.) 🙂
