Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to plan parties for, and when it comes to ideas I have lots of them! Whether you are looking for a creepy Murder Mystery Dinner or a silly Monster Party I have lots of ideas and inspiration for you. But, the other day my son asked me why we never had Halloween parties with creepy creatures and “gross stuff.” Gross isn’t really in my repertoire, but in an effort to appease my son I decided to plan a party with a few gross elements and lots of freaky fun!

Everybody loves a carnival party, and it’s the perfect theme for a Halloween party, all you need are a few creepy elements to make it truly spooktacular. Today I’ve teamed up with Cricut and Oriental Trading, as well as some of my absolute favorite party bloggers, to bring you this Halloween party. Plus, you’ll find of other creative ideas and an EPIC giveaway at the end of this post.
I knew my CarnEVIL would need a concession stand, so I used my DIY lemonade stand and turned it into a “rotten candy” concession stand. I painted rotten candy on the top part of the stand with red paint. Then I used my Cricut Maker, black felt and gold iron-on vinyl to make a “CarnEVIL” banner for the front of the stand. I also cut out a few rats in black vinyl and added those to the front of the stand as well.
I filled glass jars with a variety of candy from Oriental Trading. I wanted to make sure there were enough “gross” elements to satisfy my son so I added vinyl cockroaches to red & white lollipops. Because, let’s face it there is nothing more gross than a cockroach! I was so impressed with the detailed cuts I was able to get with these tiny little bugs on my Cricut Maker.
I covered bottles of soda with the Big Top Terror bottle labels from Oriental Trading. Those creepy clowns on the front should definitely check all the boxes when it comes to a creepy Halloween party!
I wanted all of our trick-or-treaters to know what delicious rotten candy treats they could pick from so I made a menu. I used a frame from my twins carnival birthday party and cut a piece of black foam core board to fit inside of it. I cut out all of the items for the CarnEVIL Concessions in gold vinyl with the Cricut.
Of course, my beloved gold skeleton got promoted from Mad Scientist to Head Ringmaster. He donned a top hat, bowtie and vest from Oriental Trading. He is a busy guy at the CarnEVIL, but he was just stopping by to make sure the sinister skeleton clown is on his best behavior at the Rotten Candy stand.
This was another Halloween themed party home run. It had just the right amount of creepy and the perfect blend of sweet to make it one spookttacular party! My son thought all the creepy little details were perfect and he loved pointing them out to his sister’s who would run away squealing. This year I’ve even decided to carry this theme over to our trunk-or-treat carnival. I’ll be restocking this stand with lots of goodies and setting up the deadliest show on earth to spook and delight trick-or-treaters!
Now that you are inspired to host your own creepy carnival, it’s time to check out these other amazing bloggers and their super fun projects too!

Isn’t he the best?! I am completely smitten with him! I’m hoping over now to share and check out your link party.
Nailed it, knocked it out of the park, hit it over the fence; they all apply! This candy stand is so over the top wonderful and I wish I could think of more superlatives right now. The skeletons take the cake, umm take the candy. I love everything about great styling Mariah. I’m so tempted to ask my hubby to make a stand like this for me but I don’t know if I can squeeze it in with my tablescapinb stuff. Pinned!
Thank you so much, your sweet comments just made my day!
