Handing out Halloween goodies is one of the fun parts of this spooky holiday. Between all the Halloween parties, “Booing” our neighbors and special treats for my kids I’m constantly making Halloween goodies. Whether you are making special treats for your kids or you need party favors for your monster mash these DIY Halloween Monster Favor Boxes are a fun treat.
A few years ago I hosted a colorful Monster Halloween party and ever since my kids and I have been obsessed with cute little monsters at Halloween. While we aren’t having a monster-themed Halloween party this year I decided to keep the tradition of monsters at Halloween alive and whipped up a few of these cute little favor boxes for my kids to hand out to their friends.
Not only are they super easy to make you can fill them with lots of exclusive monster treats from Oriental Trading. Oriental Trading is your last stop Halloween headquarters where you can find everything from exclusive candy to allergy-friendly toys to handout on Halloween.

How to Make DIY Monster Favor Boxes
Start by cutting strips of crepe paper long enough to wrap around your favor box. I like to cut mine long enough to double up so that each strip is fuller. Fold the crepe paper in half from top to bottom.
Use a pair of scissors and make small cuts to create the fringe.
Hot glue the strips of fringed crepe paper to the favor box. Make sure you start at the bottom and work your way up layering each strip on top of the other.
Now it’s time to add the details to your favor box. Add googly eyes, a mouth, and horns. I used my Cricut to cut out vinyl teeth and horns, but you could also simply cut these pieces out of paper too.
Make each monster unique with different eyes and embellishments.
Fill each favor box with paper shred.
Finally, add your Halloween goodies from Oriental Trading.
Hand out your cute little monsters at your Halloween party or drop them off and surprise friends with a special treat!
