Today was a perfect day for a themed Muffin Tin and craft. We had to stay home this morning and wait for the TV guy to come by and fix our TV, and you know how that goes they give you a 4 hour window so you get stuck at home waiting and 7 hours later they finally show up!
Anyway…I decided to do a simple craft this morning that didn’t require any planning or mess. So I used an idea from an old book and we made Buggy Goggles.
You need an egg carton, pipe cleaners, and stuff to decorate them. We used glitter (which didn’t really fit in with my “no mess” plans) and crayons.
Cut two pieces from the egg cartonCut holes in the center of each side for the eyes.
Cut a hole in each side to attach the pipe cleaners, bend to fit around your child’s ears.
DecorateHave fun being silly bugs for the day
To tie in with our craft we had a buggy muffin tin.
While the kids were playing I used the Cricut to cut a few decorative circles and added some bug stickers to create some cute toppers to go with our lunch.
We had PB&J, ants on a log, strawberry lady bugs, carrot & pretzel butterfly’s and Oreo spiders. YUMMY!
Don’t forget to visit Michelle and the other creative moms at Muffin Tin Mom today to see what everyone else did.
Those buggy eyes look fun and easy and a cute tin to match!
Love the buggy theme! I am almost drooling over the oreos – it's been so long since I've had one! Great muffin tin meal!
You did such a great job. I've never seen buggy goggles before. I love the decorative circles. It all looks really fun.
I love all your bugs! They look wonderful! The googles are so cool. I will need to make JDaniel some.
What a great meal! I love your cricut punchouts/picks! That would make me want to eat it too! =)
Such a cute lunch!
That is so cute! I never thought of making my own decorations for their tins.
What Cricut cart has the circles? I have a Cricut but minimal carts.
Shannon- I used the Celebration cartridge, but I also use Storybook sometimes to make them (it is really a flower, but has the same shape).
