Actually, Beach Ornaments & a Kissing Ball! My sisters wedding is only 1 week away & we have been busy finalizing the last details. Fortunately, there haven’t been too many to take care of since they will be getting married on a cruise (and they do most of the planning) but we have been busy nonetheless.
Today we worked on the Kissing Ball for little Miss A. to carry down the aisle. The cruise won’t allow you to bring on fresh flowers and the prices were astronomical so we opted not to order them for the flower girl and make our own instead (you can bring silk flowers). I think these would be great as decorations for the holiday’s and not just the wedding. Here is how you can make your own:
1. Gather your supplies: Small Styrofoam ball, silk flowers, ribbon, hot glue gun & scissors.2. Remove all the flowers from the stems
3. Attach the ribbon to the top of the ball. I used a straight pin & hot glue to secure it.4. Start poking the flowers in the Styrofoam, use a small dab of hot glue to secure. Repeat until completely covered.
5. Finally add a bow to the top & you are done. Lovely isn’t it!?The next project we worked on will be for their open house reception they are having for friends and family that didn’t go on the cruise. Since it will be in December she wanted to tie in her Christmas decorations to fit with the theme of the party. I saw this adorable idea to make your own beach theme ornaments last week here and knew we had to use it! She will be using these on her Christmas tree (we also filled some with blue tinted water for the ocean, but I forgot to take a pic) as well as party favors for guest.
This was so easy and I think the results are exactly what she wanted. You can make your own in less than hour, here is how.1. Gather supplies: Sand, small seashells, clear glass ornaments, ribbon, funnel & scissors.
2. Fill ornaments with sand using the funnel.
3. Sprinkle a few seashells.4. Place top back on & tie ribbon to the top.
Done! Easy, peasy & cute!
I can’t wait to show you pictures of the final results from the party, we’ve make lots of cute stuff.
