School starts next week for my kiddos and I think we are all ready for the regular routine and schedule. This week we kick off lots of our favorite traditions including a back to school parade, back to school interviews and one of my families favorite traditions, our Back to School breakfast. These fun breakfasts have become a favorite part of starting a new school year and it’s such a simple way to turn an otherwise ordinary morning into an extraordinary affair. This year I teamed up to with my friends at Chinet to create a place setting that has all the “write” stuff with these fun back to school breakfast notebook paper plates.
These super easy and fun DIY notebook paper plates and pencil waffles are a great way to start the school year off right. I love making things extra special for my kids, but I’m a firm believer in simplicity too. That’s why this project is perfect, it uses items I already have and it takes less than 15 minutes to create. Head over to the Chinet blog to see all the supplies you will need and how to recreate this fun school themed project.
Once you’ve created these fun notebook themed paper plates you will need something yummy to serve for breakfast. Pencil shaped waffles are just what these fun plates need and the best part is they are so simple to create.
Sometimes I think my kids are getting to old for these silly traditions and I consider not doing them, but inevitably one of them will always bring it up and make sure that I’m planning something fun for the first day of school. I think our little back to school breakfast tradition helps ease those first day jitters and it helps set the tone for the day.
This easy back to school breakfast is just what your kids need to start the new school year off on the “write” foot! Make sure you head over to the Chinet blog for the complete tutorial and for more back to school idea and inspiration.
What special back to school traditions do you have? We love to hear how others make special memories to celebrate milestone occasions like the start of a new school year.
