Can you believe it’s already time to head back to school? Me either. We’ve had lots of family fun this summer, but truth be told we are actually ready for the start of a new school year. I think everyone here is ready for a little bit of routine and structure. We can’t wait to meet our new teachers, and because we know how much heart and soul they put into their jobs we always like to greet them on the first day with a special back to school teacher gift.
This year on the first day of school my kids will be giving their new teachers a DIY chalkboard clipboard with a handwritten note about how excited they are to be in their class and for the new year. I am a firm believer that teachers are amazing people, after all they put up with my crazy kiddos day in and day out! This handmade clipboard is just a simple way to show they just how special they are and we hope they will love theirbTeaching Is a Work of Heart teacher gift .
I purchased a bunch of these plain clipboards at Michaels
First, take a pencil and trace or hand letter the Teaching Is a Work of Heart saying.
Next, use a chalk pen to trace over the pencil lines and fill in the chalkboard art.
Finally, have your child write a hand written letter to tell your teacher how excited they are about starting a new school year and being in their class. Both my mom and sister are teachers and whenever I ask them what the best gift they have received from a student is they have both said that it was a heart-felt note that confirmed that they were making a difference. So whenever we have the chance we write notes to our teachers, because we want them to know how special and appreciated they truly are.
So while I love a cute ABC Flower Jar gift or a simple Noteworthy Note Pad gift I think this one has a lot of heart. I can’t think of a better way to start the school year off on the write foot than a thoughtful note and a clipboard that they can use in the classroom.
Maybe it’s because teachers run deep in my family, but I love celebrating this time of year and I have loads of teacher gift ideas, back to school parties, healthy snack ideas and printables for special traditions, so make sure you take a look at all of these creative ideas to help turn the ordinary into extraordinary!
What’s your favorite gift to give on the first day of school? Or f you are a teacher leave us a comment and let us know what your favorite gift to receive is.
