Every Superhero knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. How else do you plan to have the energy to ward of bad guys, rescue civilians or be brave enough to conquer the day? Lucky for us “Big G Cereal Heroes” help my kids conquer their day – just like their favorite Superhero. These tasty Cheerio Breakfast Bars are definitely superhero approved!
Cheerios were a breakfast staple at my house when I was growing up. Just like my mom (and real life Superhero) I serve my kids Cheerios for breakfast. But, they are way luckier than I ever was, um hello where were all these flavored Cheerios when I was a kid. Although, the Honey Nut Cheerios are still my favorite and my kids love them too!
I serve cereal for breakfast, a lot. But every now and then I like to switch things up and make mornings more fun! Our Superhero Cheerio Breakfast Bars are a great way for my little active superheros in training to get a healthy breakfast and still have time to brush up on their extraordinary powers. Each box of General Mills Big G cereals come with exclusive collectible comic books and also include wearable, cut-out Super Hero costumes. And around here, that is enough to make any morning awesome!
These no bake Cheerio Breakfast Bars are easy to make ahead and customize for your little superheroes. I adapted this recipe, and we added craisins, chopped almonds and chocolate covered sunflowers. Almost any dried fruit, nut or seed can be substituted. These bars are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Did you know that by striking a pose that makes you look confident, you actually gain confidence? I don’t know about you, but when my kids walk out the door every morning I want them to have the confidence to succeed at anything they do throughout the day. Inspired by Superheroes, General Mills wants to ignite a movement called #SuperHeroing, to encourage kids (and adults too) to put on their cut-out costume pieces from the back of the box and strike a superhero pose at breakfast time to gain the confidence they need to tackle the day. My little superheroes were definitely ready to tackle their day after a healthy, fun and super breakfast!
If you could have any super power what would it be?
I’m linking up with these great parties here.

If I could have any superpower I would want to be Samantha from Bewitched… is that a superpower? Well, either way I would love to wiggle my nose and have my whole house clean! Yup.. that would be awesome!
