Halloween isn’t just for the kids, there is no reason we shouldn’t have some spooky fun too! This year gather your girlfriends (and the kiddos) for a Mummy and Me Halloween Soiree.
We always have an annual Halloween party and this year I decided to not just focus on the kids. While trying to brainstorm ideas for this years theme I was inspired by one of my favorite Halloween projects last year, mummy wrapped forks and decided to build a party around those. I enlisted the help of Jenny from Bloom Designs Online and created a black and white Halloween party for all the special “mummies” and their kids, a Mummy and Me Halloween Soiree.
With a touch of elegance and lots of spooky fun I planned a special lunch for everyone to enjoy. Maybe it’s just me, but I find lots of joy in sitting around the table chatting with friends or family. With our busy schedules lingering over a delicious meal and lively conversations is a rarity and something worth celebrating. The table was set and each place setting had either candy filled coffins or Mummy Treats & Pumpkin Favors. For lunch the kids made yummy mummy pizzas while the moms enjoyed black and white striped pasta with chicken and Alfredo sauce.
The Boo-fet dessert table featured an array of black and white goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth. My favorite dessert were the Mummy Morsels, a black and white parfait made with cream cheese Jell-o pudding layered with crushed Oreos. I made mummy wrapped spoons and attached them to mini parfait glasses, so cute! The Mummy Munch was a big hit with the kids, but who can resist those adorable mummy wrapped cups? Honestly, I had plans to make all of those super cute mummy wrapped desserts you see all over Pinterest (you know those darling cupcakes and cake pops) but have I mentioned I have 3 kids, a demanding work schedule and I’m trying to get my house ready to sell…so yeah that didn’t quite happen. But, it just goes to show you can still make a beautiful display with store bought items and just a few extra details to make them pop.
Keep everyone entertained with classic games like “wrap the mummy” or mummy bowling. After an afternoon of fun send everyone home with mummy wrapped favors. I put Halloween stickers and tattoos (kids love those things!) in black and white striped bags and attached a favor tag with my mummy wrapped clothes pins. Along with a small container full of gumballs and that’s a ‘wrap’ for an adorable Mummy and Me Halloween Soiree.

I LOVE this! Oh my gosh – the mummy spoons, the mummy popcorn holders…I love every little creative detail. I can’t wait until my son is a little older so I can host more parties for him and his little friends. Now I’m off to pin it so that I can remember where to find it later. Thanks for sharing!

I love the spoons Mariah! How do you make them?
Mariah says
Patrice, they are super easy. Just wrap them with strips of cheesecloth and add googly eyes with a dab of glue.
