Our sweet friend Mason just celebrated his 5th birthday.  He was having an Army party and I wanted to do something special for him, so I made him an Army suitcase to keep all his Army gear.It is my first suitcase I've painted for a boy (you can see my Dress Up suitcases, here) and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out!I started by spray painting it a dark green.  I made a template with my Cricut and handpainted the camo print.I cut out 'Property of Sgt Cobbs' in black vinyl on the Cricut and … [Read more...]

Under the Sea

One of our sweet friends recently had a birthday and her mom asked me to create some centerpieces for the party.  The party was at Build-a-Bear, so most of it was spent making cute fluffy bears.  Do you see that cute scuba bear?  Darling, I want one! Aubrey with her ballerina bear.  This was our first time to visit Build-a-Bear and she loved it!  The birthday girl loves Little Mermaid so she wanted the decorations to tie in with the cake and party plates she purchased.  I used the Life's a Beach … [Read more...]

Fancy Nancy Dress Up Suitcase & Giveaway

IMG_02081

I recently made this custom suitcase for a customer and LOVE it!  It is one of my favorite suitcases that I have made and my daughter was very disappointed it wasn't for her! Inspired by the Fancy Nancy book series I created a suitcase to fit the birthday girls party theme "Posh Puppy."  I started by painting the base purple and then painted the sides with a black and white puppy print.  I hand painted Ooh La La on the front and then added flowers in a lighter shade of pink.  It wouldn't be … [Read more...]

Craft Show

I recently did a local craft show and I am finally getting around to posting pictures.  To say October was busy for us is an understatement and November is shaping up to be just as busy!I made lots of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas items for the craft show and I also included picture frames, teacher gifts and dress up suitcases.  Preparing for a craft show is lots of work, I don't think I prepared a real meal that entire week for my family, but I had lots of fun and enjoyed seeing my … [Read more...]

A friend of mine has been redoing her sweet little girls bedroom and asked me to help her with a few projects. It's been fun and really makes me want to get started with Aubrey's room redo (can't find fabric I love for the bedding, yet. Anybody have a fabric source they love?)I made a custom cornice board, which turned out adorable, but of course I forgot to take pictures of it. She wanted it to match this sweet bedding from Land of Nod.I painted a a custom dress up suitcase for her. Love … [Read more...]

What’s Hot Wednesday

dress%2Bup%2Bsuitcase

It's Wednesday which means it time for another weekly feature of "What's Hot". Today I am shamelessly shining the spotlight on one of my own products. I recently created an Etsy Shop and I'd love for you to visit me at Giggles Galore N More to view my latest creations for sale. Many years ago (before I even had kids) I saw an adorable idea for a dress up suitcase. I filed away the idea so that one day I could create my own version. Fortunately I had a girl and she LOVES to play dress up. I … [Read more...]
