Fabulous Front Porch Makeover

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of World Market. All opinions are 100% mine. One of my favorite things about our new house is the front porch.  I've always loved the idea of having a front porch; it reminds me of simpler times where neighbors visited with each other, communities came together and life moved at a slightly slower pace.  And I absolutely love having a space that instantly greets people when they arrive, it's our home's welcome center.  Today I'm showing you some … [Read more...]

DIY Chalky Finish Nightstand Makeover

I'm excited to share this DIY chalky finish nightstand makeover I recently did for my daughter's bright and bold bedroom makeover.  I have partnered with DecoArt to show you how you can refurbish those hand-me-down pieces of furniture that just don't fit in with your decor.  I love the Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint, it's so easy to use and the results are always amazing! I picked up this little nightstand from a garage sale for $25.  It's a great piece of solid wood furniture, but … [Read more...]

Bright and Bold Girls Bedroom Makeover

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape® for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. A little over a year ago we moved into a new house and much to my dismay it's been a slow process of making it our home.  Schedules are always jammed packed, work gets in the way and then there is the issue of agreeing with my spouse on which project to tackle first...and let's not even discuss design dilemmas! But, I recently talked my sweet hubby into tackling the kids rooms and we are … [Read more...]

My favorite craft tool got a new makeover and I am so excited to share all the new details with you!  I recently had the privilege of attending an amazing product launch for the all new Cricut Explore.  Pinch me.  As a long time loyal Cricut fan (I bought my first Cricut on the HSN 7 years ago) I was giddy with excitement to attend this event, I couldn't wait to find out what this special event was all about.  Let me just say that the folks at Cricut did not disappoint!  The dinner, the friends, … [Read more...]

Wine Glasses & Coasters

I made these wine glasses and coasters for a sweet friend of mine who recently had a birthday.  I love the black, white and hot pink color combo. To make the wine glasses I picked up some wine glasses from the Dollar Store.  Cut out the monogram and circles in vinyl on the Cricut and to complete the look I tied a ribbon to the stem. For the coasters I followed the same steps I did here and just picked fun colors to coordinate with my glasses.  I am linking up with these great parties:Today's … [Read more...]

Words to Live By

I was inspired to do this project based on the Pleated Poppy's and My Backyard Eden's Family Rules.I have wanted to redo the artwork that hangs in the hallway which leads to our open Living Room & Kitchen, but knew I wasn't going to be buying anything anytime soon so this idea was perfect.Rather than make rules I decided to use words and phrases that would inspire our family...Words to Live By.My hubby took down the existing art (I forgot to take a before pic of it hanging on the wall) and … [Read more...]

Monogram Art

Our master bedroom is quite possibly one of my favorite rooms in the house. It is my retreat for peace and quite, it is one of the few rooms that hasn't been taken over with toys, and that is where my favorite DIY project is...our bedding. I LOVE my bedding! This was one of my very first major projects and 5 years later I still love it! When we bought our house and moved in I couldn't find what I wanted, so I convinced my mother to teach me to sew so I could create what I envisioned for the … [Read more...]

Magnetic Photo Frame

I first saw this idea last year while visiting my family in Utah and I immediately loved it. It has taken me a while to get around to making some, but once I did it was super easy & the results were fantastic! This was a Christmas gift for our parents.I cut the board to 12x24 and used the router to spiffy up the edges. I cut three 6x6 squares from a large piece of sheet metal (ok, my hubby did it because I wasn't strong enough!) Then I cut out the saying "Count Your Blessings" on the Cricut in … [Read more...]
