Snack Time Tic Tac Toe

Learning makes you hungry…at least that is what happens when my kids have been in school all day.  Before we’ve even walked in the door and unpacked backpacks they are asking for a snack.  And I’m always looking for healthy snacks that will keep them satisfied but won’t ruin their appetite before dinner.  This year with a little help from our sponsor California Raisins and our free Snack Time Tic Tac Toe printable, you can make snack time healthy and fun!

Snack Time Tic Tac Toe Game by Giggles Galore

Raisins were always one of my moms go to snacks and after visiting with the folks at the California Raisins Live Party I can see exactly why.  Not only are they convenient and portable, raisins are a great choice for wholesome, healthy, on-the-go snacking.  They are a great value, too.  According to the USDA, raisins are the most economical dried fruit and there are so many great ways to enjoy them.

Raisin Snacks

Whenever we eat out my kids love playing tic tac toe on the little kids menus they get so I decided why not create an edible version of their favorite game to keep them happy and satisfied after a long day at school.  This is an easy snack idea the kids can enjoy before they dive into to homework after school and you’ll love how easy it is to throw together a little fun for your kids.

Start by printing off our Snack Time Tic Tac Toe printable and cut out a game for each kid.

Next, give the kids a package of California Raisins and a small container of gold fish for their “X’s” and “O’s”  My kids love raisins, plus I recently learned that research suggests shows that eating raisins as an after-school snack may prevent excessive calorie intake and may increase satiety (or feeling full) when compared to other common snacks so I can feel good about them playing several rounds of tic tac toe!

Now, take turn playing Snack Time Tic Tac Toe with your kids or let them play each other.

With this game everyone is a winner!  After the kids have had fun playing Snack Time Tic Tac Toe let them enjoy their healthy snack.

Did you know that California Raisins come by their sweetness naturally?  The ingredient list says it all: Raisins. The nutrition label tells a great story: zero fat, no cholesterol and no added sugar.  Since doing the Whole 30 Challenge I’ve become much more conscience of reading my food labels carefully and I like knowing exactly what is in my food.  A naturally sweet, portable and economical snack, raisins make an awesome choice for kids’ lunches and after school snacks.

My sister is a kindergarten teacher so I know first hand how much work and effort go into getting the classroom ready for the start of a new school year.  I admire teachers and think they have one of the toughest jobs in the world.  Which is why I like to give my kids teachers tokens of appreciation all throughout the year.  I know first day of school gifts are seen by some as overkill or "sucking up" but I believe it's a great way to say "thank you" and start the year.  I put together this very … [Continue reading...]
